Apply concealer Correctly

Hi everyone, welcome back

We all would love to have naturally flawless and glowing skin, but we don’t. Like it or not, the stress of hectic work schedules, the build-up of pollution in the environment, poor eating habits and unhealthy lifestyles all take a harmful toll on your skin. Considering how delicate our skin and its complexion are, they are highly sensitive to any and all of these things.

Generally there are two ways of applying concealer. The first method is to dot your whole face, especially the areas you want covered, and gently run your concealer brush over your face blending these dots with your skin in outward strokes. This needs to be done with a light hand and many women simply use their index finger to blend the dotted concealer with their skin, in order to give their whole face an even and neat complexion. Many other women use their concealer to only cover their facial flaws, and hence only dab some on their problem areas alone, blending it slightly with their surrounding skin.

Having established that, it is good to know that such concealers also come in various colours and shades to battle specific skin problems. For example, a green cover stick works the best when applied to red areas of your skin, such as on and around pimples and red veins that can be commonly seen around your nose. A purple shade cover stick works the best on yellow or discolored areas of your skin such as pigmentation marks, while an orange concealer stick generally works the best on areas with a bluish tinge such as those dark under eye patches. Your concealer may also have a blue or pink shade. Blue counteracts orange tones typically caused from uneven or excessive tanning or self-tanning where a pink shade covers green areas such as green veins.

When using a corrector concealer with shades of green, purple, orange, pink or blue, think of the colour wheel. To cancel out a certain color you should use the opposite color on the color wheel e.g. you would use green on red areas because the opposite colour of red is green on the color wheel.

  • The Corrector Concealer Quad is used on areas such as dark circles, pigmentation marks, pimples, scars and under-eye circles.
  • Use your green concealer on any red areas such as red veins or pimples.
  • Use your purple concealer on any yellow areas such as pigmentation marks.
  • Use your orange concealer on areas with a bluish color such as dark under eye circles or patches.

There are numerous kinds of concealers available in the market and you must select the one friendliest to your skin. For example, if you have oily skin then a gel based cover stick or water based one would suit you well, and for dry skin a creamier stick would work well.

How to Test What Skin Type you Have

Hi everyone, welcome back

Image result for skin types

Determining your skin type is not a complex affair at all. One of the simplest ways in which you can identify your skin type is to wipe your face with a clean tissue as soon as you wake in the morning. Here is what people with different skin types will find with this test:

Normal Skin- The tissue is oil free and your skin feels as elastic and supple as ever.
Dry Skin- The tissue is oil free but your facial skin feels dry and tight.
Oily skin- The tissue has oily spots and your face looks oily especially the nose and forehead areas.
Combination Skin- The tissue has oil traces when you wipe your nose, forehead or chin but is clean when you wipe your cheeks.
Sensitive Skin- Those who have this skin type do not usually need the tissue-test to figure this out. That’s because sensitive skin reacts poorly to several things- harsh sunlight, dehydration, many creams / shampoos / cosmetics, even the weather.

Your skin

Hi everyone, welcome back

Beautiful skin is essential for making the most of your looks.Without it, all that carefully apply makeup will either go patchy and blotchy, slide into lines and wrinkles or disappear off your face in a shiny oil mess. the simple true is that most of us don’t have beautiful skin. In fact, we don’t even have so-called ‘normal’ skin, with its plump, shiny texture, radiant glow and minimal breakouts. Instead we have dry bits, oil bits or irritated bits, and that means our skin doesn’t always look or feel as good as it should. But the good news is that you don’t have to put up with this. By knowing what kind of skin you have and how to treat it, you can solve your particular problems.

Tips for oily skin

  • Only cleanse twice a day.
  • If shine still slips through, blotting paper is great for mopping up excess oil.
  • Ensure all your products – even your makeup – are oil free.
  • if you get painful red spots. a little lavender oil dabbed on the skin will help reduce inflammation in minutes.

Your key products  – Foaming cleanser ; Oil free moisturizer; Blotting papers; spot stick ….

Tips for Dry skin

  • Only cleanse your skin once at the end of the day. This will remove dirty and grime but will prevent further drying, in the morning a splash of water and some moisturizer are all you need.
  • Exfoliation is essential for dry skin.
  • Never expose your skin to really hot water, it dries out parched skin.
  • Never dry your skin completely. One of the best ways to hydrate dry skin is just to pat it with the towel after washing, then apply moisturizer to seal in that extra moisture.

Your key products – Creamy cleanser; Exfoliating scrub; Rich moisturizer; Facial mist; Moisturizing mask.

All the skin care in the world won’t help if you don’t tackle the factors that destroy your skin.

  • Protect your skin from the sun
  • Don’t smoke (Is very bad for your skin)
  • Stress affects the skin in numbers of ways ( try not to stress)
  • Sleep well
  • Drink at least 2 liters of water per day

Summer makeup tips

Hi everyone , welcome back

The summer is here in full swing ! The scorching heat and sweat tends to mess up the makeup. Runny mascara, bleeding lipstick, smudged eyeliner! Sounds frustrating right? This is why it is important to follow some simple tips  to avoid it from melting down. So, today I bring to you some such ways to keep your makeup last longer ….

Cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin and use a protection sunscreen to help lock the makeup in…..

Priming your skin before you apply your makeup will prevent your blush or foundation from melting off when you spend time under the bright sun. Apply primer to clean skin and allow it to dry before adding foundation or powder. You can also apply your foundation with a dampened makeup sponge to allow it to go on sheer without looking thick and cakey. Use even strokes and allow it to dry before applying powder or a finishing spray for a matte look.

You may opt to use a serum since they are lightweight by nature, and one of the ways to Apply makeup for summer, is to use lighter foundation, preferably powder ones for oily to combo skin and liquid for dry skin. If you put plenty of it, there are chances it would peel off sooner, so be light with your application.

Best Summer Makeup Tips You Must See

  • Use light translucent powder this is going to be hit look for summers.
  • Light shades of bronzer on cheek bones gives you an instant glow.
  • Use light brown or nude eye shadow to give them a natural look.
  • Wear sunny bright blush which is going to be easy with your outfits
  • Colors such as golden green, earthy tones can be used with brown mascara to give that extra edge.
  • Use water proof make up.
  • Apply lip balm to protect your lips from the heat and the damage of the sun rays.
  • You can increase the volume of color, vibrant shades of eye and lips but do not go in shiny and shimmer brigade.
  • Consider altering with oil free formula during the summer months.

How to choose your foundation

Hi everyone , welcome back

The foundation is the base for all makeup. Getting it right is important.

One thing that I have learn is that you should pick a foundation that is at least 1 shade lighter than your skin tone.

Whether you’re using a liquid, powder, or stick foundation, it all begins with a colour check.  When you do a colour test on your skin choose either your jaw line or your neck to apply the colour to, make sure you wait a few minutes for it to dry, as the colour can change. Sometimes the colour can turn pink, or slightly orange after drying. This is why many women end up with the wrong colour.

Image result for how to choose your foundation

IF YOU HAVE NORMAL SKIN, your foundation choice may range variously from tinted moisturizer to mineralised bases. Just choose the one for you depending upon the coverage desired and the occasion.

IF YOU HAVE DRY SKIN, pick a hydrating or oil-free moisture formula. Most foundations have a time-release system that can continuously moisturize for up to 11 hours.

IF YOU HAVE OILY SKIN, opt for a water-based or oil-free formula and use powder.

TO CONCEAL UNEVEN PIGMENTATION, look for a full-coverage formula. Cream-to-powder varieties are the best for you.

When choosing a foundation

According to skin-tone: It’s preferable to try your shade in full day light, while not solely depending upon the lighting of the cosmetic store you’re buying the product from.

Light– For fair ivory skin tones

Medium – For light medium to beige skin tones

Tan – For slightly darker complexions, including golden tan to olive tones.

Dark – For deep, rich complexions, including medium – brown to dark tones.

Hope this post help some of you who are wishing to incorporate foundation in your makeup routine .

Have a great weekend everyone

Thanks 😉
